Ahlmann AS1000 in action at Dostal Wegenbouw
For our latest customer feature, we visited Dostal Wegenbouw in Lobith. Here, operator Mayk Reinders is at work with his new Ahlmann AS1000 during the revitalization of downtown Lobith. The project includes, among other things, the installation of a new sewer system and the renovation of public spaces. After the sewer has been installed and the curbs have been set, work is underway on the gravel base, which will serve as the foundation for the area’s further development.
Nearly 30 years of experience with Ahlmann
Mayk has been working with Ahlmann machines since 1997. Over the course of nearly three decades, he has operated, in succession, an AZ6, an AZ85, an AZ85T, an AZ95, and now the Ahlmann AS1000. “Once you get used to the swivel and the four-wheel steering, you won’t want anything else.”
At Home in Infrastructure
That comes in handy at work in Lobith. With track shifting, laying tracks, and moving materials, you have to steer constantly. "You can maneuver in a very small space and pick up pallets or load dump trucks. You can slide right up close to the conveyor belt and swing it right back again.”
The Ahlmann AS1000 is fully equipped for the tasks Mayk performs every day. In addition to the standard bucket set and stone clamp, it also has a sweeping brush, a shield bucket, and even an excavator arm. This means a single machine can be used for a wide variety of tasks.
