At the Hippodrome in Waregem, Agtech from Olsene (Zulte) officially took delivery of their second Mecalac 8MCR-NG with Conrad SBM 6.0 spool drilling mast on Sept. 19, 2025. The company owned by brothers Jo and Maarten Vermeersch, which specializes in well drilling and dewatering, is thus further expanding its fleet of machines. After the success of their first combination in 2023, the choice for a second, almost identical version was a logical step.
With its 55.4 kW Deutz engine and an operating weight of approximately 7,900 kg, the Mecalac 8MCR-NG provides a stable and powerful base. The innovativetracked undercarriage features a powerful separate travel pump per track, ensuring maneuverability in slack ground, and a travel speed of up to 10 km/h.In combination with 600mm rubber tracks, slack ground can be tackled with an exceptionally low ground pressure of 0.3 kg/cm2. The Mecalac's main boom is positioned next to the cabin which, even when fitted with the Conrad flushing drill mast, keeps the machine perfectly balanced during drilling and moving the machine.
The Conrad SBM 6.0 flushing drilling mast is designed to efficiently perform flushing drilling up to about six meters deep, with a maximum depth of about 12 meters. The telescopic drilling rod and slewing function make it possible to work close to obstacles or over sheet piling. In addition, the robust mast construction ensures stability even in heavier soil types.
The drilling process is completely controllable from the cab and can be controlled remotely by radio if desired. The compact construction and advanced hydraulic controls keep the combination extremely accurate and efficient, even in tight or difficult-to-reach locations.
With this second Mecalac 8MCR-NG with Conrad SBM 6.0, Agtech confirms its confidence in the versatility and reliability of this configuration. The cooperation between Ahlmann Netherlands and Conrad Stanen thus provides an innovative solution that perfectly meets the practical requirements of modern well drilling companies.
