Why choose a swing loader?

Anyone looking for efficiency, stability, and maneuverability will quickly end up choosing a swing loader. A swing loader stands for efficiency, stability, and maneuverability. Thanks to the boom that can swing up to 90 degrees, you can work quickly, precisely, and with minimal maneuvering. The machine moves smoothly and purposefully, allowing you to get more work done with fewer actions. Unlike an articulated loader, a swing loader does not need to turn the entire machine to position the bucket.

The compact design and four-wheel steering, combined with a rigid chassis, ensure exceptional stability, even when working sideways. Whether you are working on a narrow street, a yard, a construction site, or inside a barn, the swing loader feels at home everywhere. Especially in places where space is limited, and where a conventional articulated loader would need to reposition multiple times, a swing loader truly comes into its own.

What are the advantages of a swing loader?

The swing loader is widely applicable and proves its value in construction, infrastructure, agriculture, municipalities, and landscaping. Wherever maneuverability is required, the Ahlmann swing loader offers a reliable solution.

Unique swing boom construction – The boom can swing up to 90°, allowing you to move material without turning the entire machine. This provides greater maneuverability, fewer steering movements, and higher productivity, especially in tight working environments.

Four-wheel steering in a rigid frame – Thanks to the rigid chassis, the machine remains stable, even during sideways work. While articulated loaders can become less stable when swinging, a swing loader always stays balanced. This means safer working conditions and less risk of tipping.

Compact, stable, and versatile – With its compact design and large swing angle, the swing loader can operate in narrow streets, between obstacles, or close to walls without losing space. One machine can work in places where normally multiple or smaller machines would be required.

Multifunctional use – Thanks to the wide range of attachments, you can use the same machine for various tasks: from loading and leveling to sweeping, feeding, snow removal, or light digging work. The swing loader replaces multiple machines in one.

Separate hydraulic swing function – A dedicated pump for the swing function allows the boom to swing simultaneously while driving, without affecting the drive performance.

Low maintenance and durable – The robust Ahlmann swing system works with two pulling cylinders on a chain mounted to the slewing ring. This guarantees precise control and a powerful, completely backlash-free system.

Comfort and visibility – The modern cabins offer excellent all-round visibility, intuitive joystick control with proportional functions, and plenty of space for the operator. This ensures comfortable and safe working conditions.

Efficient and economical – Because you need fewer maneuvers and can complete the job in one smooth movement, you save not only time but also fuel. That is a benefit for your budget and the environment.

Sustainability starts with versatility

At Ahlmann, we believe that one versatile machine can make the difference. Not only in productivity, but also in sustainability. An Ahlmann swing loader is designed to do more with fewer resources. It combines compactness, power, stability, and maneuverability in one machine. Thanks to its unique swing range, you work faster, more precisely, and with fewer maneuvers. Ideal for those who want to work efficiently and safely, even where space is limited.

Thanks to its versatility, one machine can replace multiple conventional vehicles. This leads to lower costs, less transport, and a smaller ecological footprint. The swing loader increases productivity on every job site and contributes to a more sustainable way of working.

Are you looking for an electric swing loader? With the Ahlmann ES 1000, you can work fully emission-free, quietly, and efficiently, without compromising on performance. Ideal for urban projects, municipal work, and locations where sustainable and future-focused operations are becoming increasingly important.

Frequently asked questions

Engine-wise, all machines in our program meet the latest Stage V emission requirements for non-road machines. On top of that, all machines are equipped with Deutz engines which are, in principle, fully approved for use with 100% renewable HVO fuel (not exclusively the less sustainable HVO20 blend).

Practically speaking, an Ahlmann swing loader is already versatile because of its multifunctionality. Because of its versatility, a swing loader has the capacity to be used more widely and to perform work that fits into a larger picture than that of an articulated loader or a mobile crane. This makes it possible for a swing loader to perform the works that are normally performed with multiple machines. This makes an Ahlmann swing loader an even more sustainable investment.

All additional functions of the machine are controlled proportionally via a single ergonomic joystick, promoting precise operation and ease of use for the operator. The continuous front, side and rear windows provide excellent visibility of the work area and immediate surroundings, significantly increasing safety during work and for bystanders. The cab is equipped with two doors (left and right) so that the operator can always safely enter and exit the machine regardless of its position.

The Ahlmann Swing Loader has a rigid chassis with a proven slewing and stabilization system similar to that of a mobile crane. This gives the machine excellent stability even when loaded sideways. The slewing boom combined with 4-wheel steering makes it possible to work with the Ahlmann particularly efficiently, even on jobs where space is at a premium. Using the swing boom in combination with 4-wheel steering saves time and space by avoiding extra maneuvers and unnecessary movements. Controlled in one motion, place the bucket where it needs to be, without having to cross, even in tight spaces. The machine can continue working in one track, minimizing steering movements. This makes it possible, for example, compared to a conventional articulated loader, to carry out different jobs within a short time, which also saves the necessary fuel.
