Flatbed Truck Driver

Ahlmann Nederland has been importing Ahlmann and Mecalac multifunctional machines for over 50 years. From our headquarters in Ammerzoden and our branch in Nieuwleusen, we support customers throughout the Netherlands. In our workshops, we maintain, repair, and customize machines to meet our customers’ needs.

As a flatbed truck driver, you’re responsible for transporting our machinery to customers, dealers, events, and our own locations. Based in Ammerzoden, you’ll be traveling throughout the Netherlands and Flanders. In addition, you’ll regularly handle shipments to Germany. This means you’ll visit a wide variety of locations, and no two workweeks are the same.

One day you’ll deliver a new machine to a customer; the next day, you’ll pick up a traded-in machine or ensure that equipment is on site in time for a trade show or demonstration. You’ll also support the workshops in Ammerzoden and Nieuwleusen by transporting machines and parts between the two locations.

Your workday usually starts as usual in Ammerzoden. There, you have a cup of coffee with your coworkers, check the schedule, and prepare for your trips. Then you head out with the flatbed truck to deliver or pick up machinery. By late afternoon, you’re usually back at the office. There, you’ll load up for the next workday, wrap up any remaining tasks, and be back at the dinner table on time.

You won’t be transporting standard cargo, but rather machines weighing 4 to 15 metric tons and their associated attachments. That’s why an interest in technology and equipment is important. And if you’re skilled at operating the machines, that’s obviously a plus.  

You’ll ensure that every machine is loaded safely, transported with care, and delivered in good condition. Along the way, you’ll interact with customers, sales representatives, technicians, and colleagues from various departments. You’re comfortable working independently, but you also understand that successful transportation requires teamwork.

• Safe transportation of machinery throughout the Netherlands, Flanders, and Germany
• Loading, unloading, and securing your shipment on your own
• Handling machine relocations for our workshops in Ammerzoden and Nieuwleusen
• Delivery of new and used machines to the site
• Transportation of machinery and materials for trade shows, demonstrations, and events
• Careful handling of trucks, flatbed trailers, and equipment

• CE driver's license and valid Code 95
• An interest in technology and machinery
• Experience with a tractor-low-loader combination
• You can work independently and maintain a clear overview
• You are meticulous, responsible, and safety-conscious
• You communicate easily with customers and coworkers
• You have a practical mindset and are flexible when the schedule calls for it
• Preferably living in the region
