Technology Fair for Waterway Maintenance
Watercourse maintenance refers to management and maintenance activities carried out on watercourses that are aimed at preserving and improving water flow. The most important activities include mowing and removing vegetation, removing silt, and clearing away sediment.
Maintenance work must be carried out in the most environmentally friendly manner possible, so that the impact on the natural environment is kept to a minimum.
Every five years, the latest machinery technology is showcased through hands-on demonstrations in Hausstette. This year, the 11th edition of this demonstration will take place at this familiar event venue.
The expansive site along the Fladderkanal, featuring various ditch profiles, dike and embankment surfaces, and the canal’s water surface, offers ideal conditions for demonstrating the full range of modern waterway maintenance techniques under realistic, real-world conditions.
Among other things, the demonstration will feature manually operated embankment mowers, excavators, self-propelled specialty machines, and mowing boats designed to remove vegetation from the canal bed.
The equipment demonstration and information fair offer water managers, municipal maintenance departments, contracting firms, farmers, and other trade visitors the opportunity to gain in-depth insight into the latest technological advancements in waterway maintenance and to exchange experiences with one another.
